FGB III -

Held at Windy City CrossFit.

These pictures are courtesy of Windy City CrossFit. Justin was a great host along with his fellow trainers and friends that showed up to support, participate and hang out with the participants that day. Everyone had a great time, from the uninitiated to the veteran and in between. Some real monsters came in strong that day, and some did not go lightly into the night. Below, a group picture with Group I of the day. Lady in a blue sleevless is Jean, great lady first timer participating and first time performing FGB. Great job!

Second picture below is none other than our favorite athlete, Anthony! Great job buddy, and thank God you didn’t bend any bars that day. I’ll try to find out the scores for each and post them on a later date.

Thank you Justin, and Windy City CrossFit for a great time. Will be keeping in touch with them for future instalments / fundraisers / challenges / tournaments to come in the very near future.

We want to start off by thanking the following Sponsors for their support and for providing us a means of Hydration and Nutrition which went a very long way not only pre workout, but post workout for Recovery!

Potbelly’s

Their sandwiches were fantastic!

Universal Sole

The “BEST” running shoe store in the Midwest! Thank you for the Hydration. That stuff really works to help you recover from such a hard workout.

The Chicago Police Academy, Chicago Police Department, Staff and Support for allowing us the time to use their gym and floor space.

SWAT HQ, for providing us space to train their SWAT team members in which we’ve planted a seed for more CF training to follow.

Teams that participated were in order of appearance:

  • Team #1 SWAT team
  • Drew, Evan, Ken, Larry

    Time: 28:11

  • Team #2 CF Teachers
  • Kathrine, Tanya, Paul, Scott

    Time: 43:11

  • Team #3 Wilson Park CF
  • Pam, Jerry, Anthony, Gio

    Time: 30:11

Teams that were scheduled to participate were not able to due to personal reasons, we hope to see them in future installments of our events and fundraisers. You included.

Thank you to all of our volunteers that helped out that day. If it were not for the Volunteer staff that showed up, I don’t know how we could have run that show at all.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the go-fers! My kids and Pam/Anthony’s kids were running around getting stuff done and counting for us also. We love you and thank you.

I am thankful to God for giving me the opportunity to share this with all of you so that one day you also can share with others.

Thanks,

G

p.s. I earned my Pukie patch also! Along with Jerry and Larry. Pictures and video to follow soon.

With the date quickly approaching, we have a Sponsor confirmation for the event. It’s our beloved eatery “Potbelly”. We are so happy to hear that they will be supplying us with food for that day so that the participants will have a chance to recoup some energy from the event at hand.

Universal Sole
, the Elite/Hardcore Runners’ shoe store that caters to mere mortals also. The Sole, as it’s known in the running circles has signed on to support such a worthy cost. The word is that they may be fielding Team for the event! That would be awesome!! This happens to be the BEST Running shoe store ever! Welcome aboard.

I am so thankful for those that have pledged their support for this event. Updates will continue to trickle in.

Thank you so very much.
